No accident

As a typical second generation immigrant, I was used to working as soon as I was of legal age to do so. By the time I went to university, I was experienced enough to find jobs that would give me at least some exposure to areas that I wanted to explore for career opportunities. So I ended up producing the matchday magazines for VfL Bochum, Borussia Mönchengladbach, KFC Uerdingen, Düsseldorf Rhein Fire and others; I had my hand in placing the famous Sanyo battery abused by Jürgen Klinsmann in the Olympiastadion in Munich; I served as an intern under legendary general manager Rüdiger Lamm at Arminia Bielefeld, and as a fan, I was part of the group that ran "Um halb vier war die Welt noch in Ordnung", a printed Arminia fanzine that ultimately led to famous German football culture magazine "11 Freunde". In retrospect: my media and sports focus was meant to be from early on.
